Unitron Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
Unitron is a Canadian hearing aid manufacturer with worldwide operations headquartered in Waterloo Region, Canada.
An angry customer shared his/her opinion about Unitron on Consumer Affairs in November 2019:
"Unitron hearing aids are CRAP. I spent the money and got the best they had to offer with all the bells and whistles and they kept cutting out, even a waitress standing 2 ft from me I couldn't hear them, I kept hearing it's the wax, let's adjust blah blah blah. I've been back to my audiologist umpteen number of times, I even got them sent back and still they keep cutting out and these are cleaner than when I got them, they are actually worse for my hearing than if I didn't have anything in them at all, the app is crap too no features sometimes connects sometimes not... I recommend NOT spending any money or time into these they are nothing but pain and not worth the hassle... I wish I could give less than 1 star."
says"I have been working at Unitron (TX) Cons: Where to begin? Only people that matter are the higher up in the company. The pay is terrible and they admitted to low wages because of the benefits they offer. The system needs a complete overhaul and upgrade, from what I understand is they've been using the same outdated system for 20+ years. The job could be so much easier and efficient if they invested in a better system. Absolutely no room for advancement, if you don't mind settling for less then this is the place for you!"
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Unitron (TX) full-time for less than a year Cons: an almost total lack of professionalism, compassion and insight into current business practices"
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Unitron (TX) full-time Cons: Management is completely out of touch with the real world. Still trying to run the company with old ideas that hinder the process and progress. Micromanagement is taken to a new meaning, and employees and company directives keep changing thus not allowing the employee or company to grow. Chairmen / managers need to leave the company and allow new managers to take over. The company continues to lose sales personnel for the same reason."
Former Employee - Sales Manager says"I worked at Unitron (TX) full-time for more than a year Cons: Micro-management attitude, lack of allowing the sales team follow their own instincts and show their experience. The ownership is set on their OLD ways of doing business not allowing for progress, forcing the sales team to go against their instincts."
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I have been working at Unitron (TX) full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Merit increases are almost nonexistent. The place is run like a mom-n-pop shop and takes micromanagement to a new level."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Unitron (TX) full-time Cons: You should expect zero pay raises after joining. Most of the employees of Unitron are trapped due to age, skill set, or immigration status so overall moral is very low."

sales and marketing (Former Employee) says"While Unitron may have good product to sell, their company culture is very poor. Cons: management"
Marketing (Former Employee) says"Although Unitron provides good job security, decent salary and good benefits the culture of the company is very old-school."
Electronics Engineer (Current Employee) says"Old technology no chance to keep you knowledge up to date. company has no structure as far as corporate ladder. raises are across the board not for performance. Cons: silo style managment"
Employee (Former Employee) says"This is a job, that's about it. No room for advancement, the pay is low, no raises in YEARS!! They say it's because of the benefits they offer, no other explantion given. No one really knows how to work together, everyone puts blame on anyone they can. It's a dead end job! Best for temporary work only. They work as if still in the 80's, the system they use needs upgrading so bad. Cons: Poor management, no pay raises, no bouneses, lack of commuincation, gossip, childish behavior"
Inside Sales / Technical Support Specialist (Current Employee) says"Especially skilled at business development with increased profits and market share within defined territory. Excellent strengths in the development of client relationships and contract negotiations. Passionate and driven to succeed. Looking for an opportunity to grow within a company."
Software Engineer (Former Employee) says"A good place to work with exciting work and motivated coworkers."
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says"I think Unitron tries to do well by their employees with limited resources. However, people often get burnt out and managers have their own problems to deal with. This increases the temptation to take advantage of hard working employees."
Marketing Project Coordinator (Current Employee) says"Unitron is one of the smaller companies under the Sonova umbrella. Since it is smaller, we wear more hats and have more of an entreprenurial spirit--all hands on deck when needed. The people and the culture makes it a great place to work."
